Chocolate Honeycomb Pancakes

1 cup milk

1 egg

40g butter, melted

1 cup plain flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/4 cup caster sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

Chocolate Sauce

300g dark chocolate, chopped

1/2 cup thickened cream

Extra butter, for frying

Chocolate coated honeycomb, to serve


  1. In a small bowl combine milk, egg and butter.
  2. In a separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, caster sugar, baking soda and salt.
  3. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and add milk mixture. Stir to combine.
  4. Heat a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Melt a small amount of butter.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of batter and cook for 3-4 minutes or until bubbles appear on the surface. Turn and cook for another 2 minutes. Set aside and repeat with remaining batter.
  6. Chocolate sauce: Combine chocolate and cream. Melt together until smooth.
  7. Pour chocolate sauce over pancakes and top with honeycomb. Serve.
