Great coffee
I purchase this machine approx 6 months ago after my DeLonghi died. I wanted a machine which frothed milk, and this looked like the best affordable. Well i never could believe that a machine that costs under $200 could make a better coffee than my old Delonghi! We have a delonghi at work, but i bring my own from home, as the flavour is amazing! I even struggle to enjoy bought coffee now. Highly recommend this unit

Save yourself $$$$$$$
I thought I would give this a bash, a step up from capsules, its a learning curb, from which beans you use, to glass size, to grinding beans and grinder.
For the latte lover who enjoy med to strong you will need a 300ml glass or a 250ml is good but you will have to froth manually.
The machine gives fantastic results, follow instructions or you tube it, after a couple of mths playing around with beans how far to fill the coffee well, the amount of money you will save mind boggling, you will be saying to yourself you can make better for cheaper
Big w also sell a breville grinder for about 40 bucks, this is the one I am using, just remember to pulse the beans.... Pulse being short bursts, clean up on this unit is as easy as it comes.

Great Coffee Maker
Bought this expresso machine about 4month ago and use it daily, I find the secret is starting with a good quality coffee. Having owned several expresso makers, including pod machines. This is the first one I can make coffee as good as what I can buy anywhere here in Melbourne, and so quick and easy to clean. Personally I don't use the milk frother very often, that is no reflection of the machine rather my partner uses soymilk while I use full cream milk. On the occasions I have used the frother I found it working very well

Frothing nightmare
I have had this for a while now. The consistency of the frothing is a total nightmare. One day it will froth over the top of the cup, the next day it will only half fill it, with the same setting for froth on the dial, in the same cup. No two days are the same. It makes a lot of mess as a consequence because you don't know what you are going to get. It really is more trouble than it is worth, don't waste your money. If you want milk, buy a cheaper machine and a separate milk frother. Don't waste your money on this, it will do your head in. Gave it two stars because at least it does make a regular coffee ok.

Smart little machine
What a surprise this little beauty is. As an avid coffee drinker, sometimes 3-4 day, this little machine has replaced the need to purchase my coffees from my local café. It has also replaced my old pod machine. Easy to use, one touch buttons on the face, quick to assemble and easy to clean and it produces a cafe quality coffee. Who wouldn't love it! Would I recommend this to a friend, absolutely! Perfect for the home or maybe even a small office.
Thanks Sunbeam for adding another quality appliance to my collection!

Very disappointed
After having used the same for a week whilst on holiday and finding it very easy to use we purchased this machine yesterday from Big W. However despite carefully following all directions for preparing the machine for first use the milk will not dispense at ALL. I have read the manual back to front, watched You Tube videos depicting use, scrolled through "trouble shooting" forums (where the only resolution provided to similar problem is the "tubes are blocked and need cleaning" which shouldn't be applicable in this case as the machine hasn't been used)- very and disappointing and frustrating, since I will now have to travel the 260 km round trip to return it!

coffee
Purchased this machine at christmas, after my delonghi died. It was less than a quarter of the price and does everything my Delonghi did except grind the beans.
But local cafe does that for me now when I purchase my beans. Excellent product and actually keeps milk fresher than my old machine container did.

Great for its price
I have been using the EM5000 for approximately 1 year. The quality of coffee that comes out is superb, the milk froth is decent (Not amazing- Recommend using the actual cappuccino milks available - helps a lot)
I use the machine every morning and have had no issues with the machine.
The one down fall is the small rubber tube that feeds milk into the machine discolours overtime. I had to separately purchase a small cleaning brush to prevent this.
I have since purchased another to have in the office as well as at home, saving an absolute fortune ;-)
