If using one of the recipes provided be sure to weight the flour and also check the type of yeast you are using.

Normally for Tandaco we recommend:

• Full sachet of yeast
• Defiance - 1 ½ teaspoons
• Laucke/Lowan - 1 ½ teaspoons

If using a bread mix check water content and also yeast content again. (Unfortunately we have no control over breadmixes as all ingredients are included by manufacturer).

When using the recipes provided to encourage browning you can increase the amount of butter & sugar in the recipe.

If you are using a bread mix- brush the top of the loaf with a little oil or egg yolk 25 minutes prior to baking.

The Bread pan should last anywhere between 1 -2 years depending on usage. You can also spray the base of the pan with Pure & Simple to help protect the surface.

• leave the frypan to soak overnight OR

With most of the fry pans you need to preheat at a high temp of 7-8 first then add oil and drop down to 4 -5. This will maintain the high temp without simmering and boiling.

Some of our models recommend that you can use both metal and non-metal utensils although you will need to be careful when moving food around as this can scratch the surface.

Once scratched the Teflon will peel at which point we do not recommend that you keep using.

A buildup of scale on the steam valve can affect the steam function of your iron.

To avoid this problem:

• Remove the steam valve from the iron, wash and dry thoroughly.
• Fill the iron with water and turn the temperature dial to the linen setting.
• Allow the iron to steam for approximately 3 minutes.
• If applicable, press the shot of steam button a couple of times to clear any buildup.

Occasionally, a buildup of lint under the thermostat control can prevent the iron from heating.

To remove:

• Unplug the iron from the power outlet.
• Slowly turn the temperature control clockwise and anti-clockwise from minimum to maximum. Do this several times.

Just before the iron completely cools down, put some eucalyptus oil in a cloth then wipe it on the surface of the sole-plate to remove buildup and to clean.

You will need to take your iron:

• Turn off the iron then turn it back on again.

If the cord is wrapped around the iron, it may cause fatigue to the cord and damage the wiring.

At times, the filter inside your kettle can become dislodged. If this is the case, lift the lid and check if it’s in place. Refer to your instruction booklet for directions.

Mineral deposits in tap water may build up inside your kettle over time. To remove this build up, use Sunbeam Liquid Descaler (KE0100) which is a simple to use, non-toxic cleaner. Alternatively you can try the following:

• Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water and allow to stand overnight. DO NOT BOIL.
• Empty the solution from the kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to boil and then discard the water. Repeat and the kettle will then be ready to use.

When only boiling a small amount of water, condensation can sometimes show in the water window. If the kettle has a larger volume of water in it, the condensation will not occur.

A damp cloth with very little detergent can be used to wipe the body of your kettle. Once wiped over, dry with a soft clean cloth.

This can often be caused by different mineral deposits in the water supply. However, you can try a vinegar solution:

• Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water and allow to stand overnight. DO NOT BOIL.

Empty the solution from the kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to boil and then discard the water. Repeat and the kettle will then be ready to use.

Mineral deposits in water may cause the kettle interior to discolour.

To remove this buildup, you can:

• Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and remainder water.
• Allow to stand overnight, making sure you do not boil.
• Discard solution, refill kettle with water, boil & discard.

If this does not get rid of the buildup you can then purchase the Sunbeam liquid descaler which is available from an authorised Service Agent.

You can clean the kettle with Stainless steel cleaner OR Polish with a wet cloth in a circular motion, then dry with a soft cloth.

If your kettle isn't automatically switching itself off, there is a fault with the switch.

Safety is a major consideration in the design of a Sunbeam kettle. This is why we have developed our 3-Way Safety System, which ensures that your kettle will:

• 1. Automatically switch off after boiling
  For convenience, safety and energy efficiency, your Sunbeam kettle will automatically switch off after boiling.
• 2. Cut-out for boil-dry-protection
  If the kettle is operated without water, it will automatically cut-out, preventing any damage to the element. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.
• 3. Shut-down in case of overheating
  In the event of overheating, the kettle will automatically shut down to prevent further damage. Should this occur, take your kettle to a Sunbeam Service Centre or Appointed Service Agent.

If not placed on the top shelf and the temperature is set on high the jug will crack.

There could be some dust/lint build up where the fan is located or chilling motor is faulty and will no longer chill the water. Switch the water filter off at the mains power point. You can vacuum the area and re-set machine again.

The water filter and chiller reaches 8 -12 degrees.

The pure source contains a micro-fine 0.5 micron carbon block filter. There is another filter available as well called the General Purpose filter. (Mainly used for hard water areas).

At times, this can occur due to an air bubble. To eliminate, remove the filter and shake out any excess water into a sink. Place filter back into the unit. This should eliminate the leaking , however, if it continues to leak, please contact our Consumer Support line on 1300 881 861.

If you haven’t changed the filter recently, it may be that it is full and needs to be changed. However, if this is a new filter, some water may have made its way into the filter. You can remove this by simply shaking the water out and re-placing the filter back again. If it continues to leak, please contact our customer service center on 1300 881 861.

The carbon block filter has no shelf life. It will still work effectively irrespective of length of time before first use.

Once in-use, the filter should last up to 750 litres, depending on the quality and source of the water.

With the machine switched off, visually inspect the steam nozzle to see if it is physically blocked (for example, milk may have lodged and solidified in the mouth of the valve).

If it is blocked, you should be able to clear it with a small pin.

You may also need to prime the unit (to clear out any air pockets that may have formed).

• Make sure the water tank/reservoir is all the way in.
• Place a bowl under the steam wand (and if applicable, under the hot water wand as well).
• Turn on the steam wand (and if applicable, hot water wand) and let it run for 3-4 minutes.

This should help clear any "air lock".

Recent changes to the Australian and New Zealand safety standards have made overheat protection mandatory on all electric blankets sold in Australia and New Zealand. While all Sunbeam electric blankets have contained overheat protection since 1991 (and most long before this), older blankets or other brands may not be equipped with this important safety feature.

There are two lights on the 972A6 electric blanket control, one behind the temperature dial to indicate the selected temperature setting, and one labelled Timer Off.

When the blanket is switched ON and heating (i.e. during the selected timer period) the light behind the temperature dial illuminates to indicate that the blanket is on and heating, and the timer light is OFF.

Once the timer period has ended the temperature dial light goes out and the blanket switches off. The Timer Off light illuminate to indicate that the timer period has ended. To restart the timer period, move the slide switch to the off position then back to the selected timer setting.

If a fault is detected within the blanket, the timer light will FLASH.

If you have a 9 heat timer control model 972A6 or 972A5 (refer to the rear of the control for the model number) it could mean that a fault has been detected within the blanket or control. Switch the control to the off position and turn the power off at the power outlet. Check that the control is inserted into the socket on the blanket correctly before turning the power on at the outlet and switching the control on again. If the light continues to flash, contact Sunbeam Customer Service for assistance.

If you have a 9 heat timer control model 972A1, a flashing Timer light indicates that the timer period has ended (75 minutes or 12 hours, depending on the setting you have selected). To restart the timer period, move the slide switch to the off position then back to the selected timer setting.

Yes, your Sunbeam Electric Blanket can be used on a latex mattress, providing that the blanket remains smooth and crease-free. Electric blankets should not be used on latex mattresses with uneven surfaces, such as those shaped like an egg carton.

Yes, you can use your electric blanket with a waterproof mattress protector. If you have a Safe & Sound electric blanket*, it can be placed on top or underneath the mattress protector. If you have a Sunbeam electric blanket that is not from the Safe & Sound range, we recommend that you only place the blanket on TOP of the mattress protector.

Yes, all Sunbeam electric blankets have detachable controls and waterproof elements, making them safe to wash by hand or in the washing machine. Simply remove the controls and wash the blanket by hand in warm water with a mild detergent, or on a delicate cycle. It can then be line or tumble dried.

The Boost function is idea for preheating the bed, or for an extra burst of heat during chilly nights. Pressing the Boost button heats the blanket to the maximum heat setting for 30 minutes, and then returns the blanket to the previously selected heat setting.

Pressing the boost button during the boost period will restart the 30 minute boost cycle. To interrupt the boost cycle, move the switch to the OFF position and then turn it back on.

Yes, to provide the best possible performance, it is important to place your heated quilt inside a quilt cover before use. Ensure that you have the quilt positioned with the connectors at the base of the bed and facing upwards, as described in the instructions. Your Heated Quilt is designed to fit inside a standard Queen or King size quilt cover (depending on the size you have purchased), so you do not need to purchase special bed linen.

Yes, it is safe for someone to sit or lie on top of the Heated Quilt. The patented heating wire is strong and flexible, and constantly self-regulates the temperature, allowing it to be used in this type of blanket.

If one side of your double, queen or king side electric blanket fails to heat, this could be the result of a fault within the electric blanket or the control. To identify the source of the fault, take the control from the side of the bed that is working and plug it into the side that is not heating. Be sure to switch the control to the off position and turn the power off at the power outlet before removing the control from the blanket. Connect the control to the side that is not heating before turning on the power and switching the control on. If this side of the blanket now heats, there is a fault with the other control. Contact Sunbeam Customer Service for a replacement control. Be sure to have the control handy so that you can quote the model number on the back for a suitable replacement.

If the blanket still does not heat with the working control, there is a fault within the blanket itself, and you will require a replacement. Note that this will result in the control socket being on top of the blanket rather than underneath it. Alternatively, contact Sunbeam Customer Service for a replacement control that has a longer cord that runs underneath the mattress so that the control is on the preferred side.

Yes. While many of Sunbeam's Safe & Sound electric blankets are designed to stay on the bed year round as a comfortable underlay, you can store your blanket if you wish. Simply remove the controls, roll or fold the blanket loosely and place it in a plastic bag or blanket storage bag. Avoid pressing sharp creases into the blanket as this may damage the wiring. You do not need to add mothballs or other items to the blanket during storage.

No. The maximum temperature (and wattage) of the blanket is the same regardless of the number of settings. Setting 10 on a 10 heat control will produce the same heat as setting 3 on a 3 heat control. The more settings you have simply gives you greater choice and more control over the heat of the blanket.
